PosturePal — Privacy Policy

PosturePal is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

Camera & face data

• PosturePal uses the front (TrueDepth) camera with Apple's ARKit face tracking (the TrueDepth API) to measure your head angle for posture detection.
• Collection: the only information derived from the camera is a single head-tilt angle. No camera images, video, depth maps, face geometry, facial expressions, or biometric identifiers are ever collected.
• Use: that angle is used solely to show your live posture status and to trigger posture reminders. It is never used for identification, analytics, advertising, marketing, or machine learning.
• This processing happens entirely on your device, in real time.
• Storage & retention: face data is processed only in memory and is never retained. No camera images, video, or face data are ever stored or transmitted. Nothing leaves your device.
• Sharing: face data is never shared with anyone — not with the developer and not with any third party.

Data stored on your device

Your settings (sensitivity, battery saver, sound, alert delay, calibration) and posture stats are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere. They are removed if you delete the app.

Information you choose to send

PosturePal only sends data when you actively choose to:

• Feedback / bug reports: your message, your optional email address, and basic device info (app version, iOS version, device model) are sent to the developer via the form service Formspree and to the developer's email.
• Crash reports: if a crash is detected and you tap “Send,” crash details and basic device info are sent the same way.

This information is used only to improve the app and provide support. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used for tracking.

In-app purchases (tips)

Tips are optional and processed by Apple In-App Purchase. PosturePal never sees your payment details, and tips do not unlock any features.

What we do NOT do

• No accounts or sign-in
• No advertising or analytics SDKs
• No tracking across apps or websites
• No selling or sharing of personal data
• Face/camera data is never used for marketing, advertising, or data mining

Children

PosturePal does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here.
